Policies & Procedures
2026-2027 Policies & Procedures
as of June 2, 2026
Dance/10 operates on a year-round training model designed to support each dancer’s consistent progress and growth. A non-refundable annual enrollment fee of $44 per student is due at registration and each August thereafter, based on current rates.
Tuition is based on an 11.5-month program, running from mid-August through the end of July. Tuition is divided into 12 payments, consisting of a half-month payment for August and 11 equal monthly installments from September through July. Because tuition is averaged across the full season, some months may include three weeks of classes and others may include five weeks of classes. Tuition is not prorated based on the number of classes in a particular month.
There is a two-month minimum enrollment period for all classes. Withdrawal procedures are outlined later in this agreement.
Dance/10 reserves the right to adjust class schedules, combine similar classes, change instructors, or cancel classes that do not meet minimum enrollment. Families will be notified as soon as reasonably possible if a class is changed or canceled. If Dance/10 cancels a class and no appropriate alternative option is available, any applicable unused tuition for that class will be refunded or credited at Dance/10’s discretion.
Missed classes may be made up within two weeks of the absence in any age- and level-appropriate class, depending on availability. The makeup class may be a different dance style. To qualify, the absence must be reported through the portal before the class start time, and the makeup must be reserved in advance through the portal so that class sizes can be managed safely and the student appears on the instructor’s class roster.
To qualify for a makeup class, the absence must be reported through the portal before the class start time.
- Unreported absences are not eligible for makeup classes.
- Makeups cannot be applied as tuition credit.
- Makeups are only available to currently enrolled students.
- Makeup credits do not roll over from one dance year to the next.
For help scheduling a makeup or in the case of a last-minute emergency, please contact the front desk.
Families who wish to withdraw from a class must complete the studio’s online withdrawal form. Dance/10 cannot accept withdrawal requests by phone, email, text message, in person, or verbally through an instructor.
The withdrawal form must be submitted within the first 15 days of the month for withdrawal to take effect at the end of that same month.
For example:
- If the form is submitted by October 15, the student’s last day of class will be October 31.
- If the form is submitted on October 16 or later, enrollment continues through November 30, and November tuition will be due.
The exception to this policy is that June 1 is the final withdrawal deadline for July enrollment. Families who do not submit the withdrawal form by June 1 remain enrolled through July, and July tuition will be due.
Dance/10 does not assume a student has withdrawn due to absences or lack of attendance. Tuition and any applicable fees remain due until the withdrawal form has been submitted and the account balance is paid in full.
Dance/10 reserves the right to discontinue a student’s enrollment when necessary, including but not limited to safety concerns, repeated policy violations, disruptive behavior, nonpayment, or circumstances that prevent the studio from providing an appropriate class environment. Whenever possible, Dance/10 will attempt to resolve concerns through respectful communication before discontinuing enrollment. If
Dance/10 initiates a withdrawal, any applicable unused tuition will be refunded or credited as determined by Dance/10.
Dance/10 observes select holidays each year, as listed on the studio calendar. Tuition is not prorated, and makeup classes are not offered for scheduled holiday closures because these closures are already factored into the tuition rate plan.
In the event of teacher illness, emergency, or absence, Dance/10 may provide a qualified substitute instructor.
If the studio must close because of circumstances outside its control, including severe weather, facility issues, public health directives, power outages, or other emergencies, Dance/10 will communicate with families as soon as reasonably possible. Depending on the circumstances, Dance/10 may offer a makeup option, alternate schedule, remote class, or other reasonable accommodation. Tuition remains subject to the current payment and refund policies.
Dance/10 offers two recital opportunities each year, typically in December and July. Recital participation is optional. Recital details, costume information, opt-out deadlines, and payment dates will be shared by email and posted on the Dance/10 website.
For students who have not opted out by the deadline, the costume fee will be automatically charged to the payment method on file, on the published due date listed on the studio calendar.
Late costume orders are subject to availability and a $30 shipping and processing fee. Costume fees are non-refundable. Costumes will be distributed only to students whose tuition and account balances are current.
To participate in a recital, students must remain registered in the participating class through the month in which the recital occurs. Dance/10’s recital documentation will note additional information on participation requirements, including attendance expectations, rehearsal requirements, costume details and deadlines, and performance conduct expectations.
Families should refer to the Dance/10 website for detailed dress code information, including class-specific requirements for hair, attire, and shoes. Students are expected to wear required dancewear and appropriate dance shoes for each class style.
The dress code supports safety, full range of movement, alignment with the discipline of dance, classroom management, and a sense of shared community. Loose clothing can create safety hazards during movement, jeans can restrict motion, and acrobatics classes require clothing that stays securely in place when students move upside down.
Dance/10 strives to support all dancers in feeling confident and comfortable in their dancewear. Families should contact the studio if a student needs an accommodation or alternative due to gender identity, sensory needs, medical needs, religious practice, body comfort, or another personal circumstance.
For safety reasons, dancers may not wear jewelry in class unless specifically approved by the instructor for medical, cultural, or other necessary reasons.
Students should arrive and leave the studio wearing appropriate cover-ups and street shoes. Dance attire is designed for class and may not provide appropriate coverage outside the studio. Dance shoes should be worn inside the studio only, as outdoor use can damage the shoes and our dance floors. Cover-ups should be removed when requested by the instructor for safety, movement, and proper technique correction.
Students who are not dressed appropriately may be asked to observe class rather than participate.
Families agree to help keep our students and neighborhood safe by using caution during drop-off and pick-up. Please drive slowly, watch for pedestrians, and follow all traffic laws around the studio.
Double parking, blocking driveways or intersections, and using private or restricted parking lots, including the lot across from Dance/10 behind the corner market, are not permitted. If your student is not ready, please circle the block or park legally nearby.
Families are expected to be respectful of neighboring homes and businesses. Noise should be kept to a minimum when arriving at or leaving the studio, especially during evening classes.
Dance/10 is not responsible for providing before- or after-class care for students. Dancers should arrive no earlier than 5 minutes before class and be picked up no later than 5 minutes after class ends. Families are responsible for ensuring that students are supervised before and after the class window.
At Dance/10, consistent attendance supports dancer growth, skill progression, and group cohesion. For safety and instructional reasons, students who arrive late may be asked to observe class rather than participate, particularly if they have missed warm-up or essential instructions. Repeated lateness may result in a conversation about class readiness, placement, or continued enrollment. Repeated or excessive absences may also affect recital participation, class placement, or skill progression.
No food or drink, except water, is permitted in the building unless approved by staff for a specific event. Gum and glass containers are not permitted.
Dance/10 is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal belongings. Families are encouraged to label dance shoes, bags, jackets, water bottles, and other personal items.
A lost and found is located in the lobby, and students and families are encouraged to check it regularly. Unclaimed and unlabeled items will be donated periodically.
Dance/10 offers two ways for families to observe classes without distracting students or interrupting instruction. Families may observe classes through our secure online streaming service, SpotTV. A closed-circuit TV is available in our lobby for our two smaller studio rooms.
Parents, guardians, and guests are not permitted inside studio rooms during class unless invited by the instructor or studio staff. This allows teachers to maintain student focus, support classroom management, and create the best possible learning environment for all dancers.
Students are expected to treat instructors, staff, classmates, families, and studio property with respect. Students should follow instructor directions, use appropriate language, participate safely, and avoid behavior that disrupts instruction or affects the emotional or physical safety of others.
Families and adult students are expected to communicate respectfully with staff and other families. Harassment, threats, bullying, intimidation, discriminatory conduct, aggressive behavior, or repeated disruption of studio operations will not be tolerated.
Dance/10 may respond to conduct concerns through a conversation, parent or guardian meeting, written warning, temporary removal from class, class reassignment, recital restrictions, or withdrawal from enrollment. Serious safety concerns may result in immediate removal from class or discontinuation of enrollment.
Safe Participation
For the safety of all dancers, students must be physically and mentally able to participate safely in class. Students may not participate while impaired by alcohol, cannabis, medication, illness, fatigue, injury, or any other condition that may affect coordination, judgment, balance, focus, or safe movement.
If an instructor or staff member has a reasonable concern that a student may not be able to participate safely, Dance/10 may ask the student to observe class instead of participating or may require the student to leave class for the day. This decision will be made with student safety and the safety of others in mind.
Adult students are responsible for making safe choices before attending class, including after social events, seasonal gatherings, or any occasion where alcohol or other substances may have been consumed.
At Dance/10, dance is for everyone. We are committed to creating a family-friendly, inclusive, and respectful environment for dancers of all ages, races, ethnicities, nationalities, religions, gender identities, sexual orientations, body types, disabilities, neurodiverse experiences, abilities, and backgrounds.
Faculty and staff work to support each dancer’s individual needs, and families are encouraged to communicate with us about accommodations, concerns, or ways we can help their dancer feel safe, comfortable, and successful.
To help maintain a welcoming family-friendly environment, clothing, bags, and other visible items brought into the studio should not include political, offensive, discriminatory, sexually explicit, profane, or otherwise inappropriate language, slogans, images, or logos.
Dance/10 reserves the right to ask that inappropriate items be removed, covered, or not brought into the studio. When necessary, Dance/10 may also restrict participation, refuse service, or discontinue enrollment in order to protect the safety and well-being of our studio community.
We ask all families to regularly check email, bulletin boards, and our website for updates. Dance/10’s primary mode of studio communication will be via email. Families are responsible for keeping contact information, emergency contacts, and payment information current in the portal.
By enrolling, families grant Dance/10 permission to use video and still images of their dancer in promotional materials, including our website, social media, print advertising, and other studio communications.
Dance/10 classes, rehearsals, performances, and events often include group settings where students may appear incidentally in photos or videos. Due to the scale and nature of our programming, Dance/10 is not able to manage individual photo or video exclusions or guarantee that a student will be omitted or edited out of group images, class footage, performance videos, or promotional materials.
The studio reserves the right to copyright such media in its name.
Taking videos of classes or choreography is at the sole discretion of the class instructor. Class recordings may not be posted online, shared publicly, uploaded to sites such as YouTube, or posted on social media without express permission from the instructor and Dance/10.
Dance/10 uses SpotTV for class observation through a secure streaming platform. To protect the privacy of our dancers, screenshots and recordings of SpotTV streams are strictly prohibited. SpotTV may suspend or disable streaming accounts if screenshots or recordings are taken.
Dance is a physical activity that involves movement, balance, flexibility, strength, coordination, and physical exertion. As with any physical activity, participation involves inherent risks, including but not limited to strains, sprains, falls, collisions, overuse injuries, and other personal injuries.
Parents, legal guardians of minors, adult students, and participating students agree to release and hold harmless Dance/10 Performing Arts Center, its owners, teachers, dancers, staff members, contractors, volunteers, and facilities used by Dance/10 from claims, causes of action, or demands arising from ordinary participation in dance classes, rehearsals, performances, online instruction, or related studio activities, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Families and adult students agree to follow class and facility rules and accept responsibility for behavior that causes injury, disruption, or damage to property.
For online classes, students should participate only in a space that is safe for movement and appropriate for their physical ability. Parents or guardians should supervise minors during online classes. Students should avoid unsafe surfaces, obstacles, and flooring that may be damaged by dance shoes. Tap shoes may scratch wood, tile, or laminate surfaces.
Families should inform instructors if a student needs movement modifications due to injury, medical condition, disability, recovery status, or other physical needs. Students should not participate in class when injured, medically restricted, or unable to do so safely.
Dance/10 is committed to supporting the health and wellness of students, staff, and families. Students should not attend class when they are feeling unwell, have symptoms of a contagious illness, or have been instructed to stay home by a medical professional, school, or public health authority.
By enrolling, families and adult students agree to follow any public health guidelines or illness-related procedures Dance/10 may issue, including updates made in response to changing conditions. These procedures may include temporary changes to attendance expectations, masking, distancing, cleaning protocols, class format, or participation requirements.
Dance/10 fosters a culture of body positivity and physical wellness. The studio celebrates all body types and promotes healthy habits rather than appearance-based standards. Families and adult students should understand that dance is physically demanding and that proper rest, hydration, nutrition, and injury prevention are important to safe training.
For convenience, Dance/10 accepts tuition by electronic funds transfer directly from a bank account or by credit card, including Visa and Mastercard. Payment must be made by pre-authorized automatic monthly payment.
Any changes to the payment method on file must be made before the last day of the month to take effect for the next payment cycle. Families are responsible for ensuring that payment information remains current and that payments can be processed on time.
Tuition fees are processed via the payment method on file on the:
- 15th day of the month for August.
- 1st day of each month from September to July.
- The July 1 payment is the final tuition deduction for the dance year.
Incidental fees, including but not limited to retail purchases, recital tickets, special events, and other non-tuition charges, may not be included in automatic tuition payments unless otherwise stated. These fees must be paid by an accepted payment method at the time they are due.
A $30 fee will be charged for returned checks, declined automatic payments, or failed EFT or credit card transactions. Past-due accounts may result in restricted class participation, delayed costume distribution, recital ineligibility, or discontinuation of enrollment until the account is brought current.
All tuition and fees are non-refundable unless a class is canceled by Dance/10 and no appropriate alternative is available. If public health directives, facility issues, weather, or other circumstances affect the instructional format, Dance/10 may continue instruction through remote platforms, modified schedules, makeup options, or other reasonable alternatives. In those cases, tuition and fees remain non-refundable because faculty and staff continue working to provide instruction and program administration.
If public health concerns, facility limitations, weather, or other circumstances require recital cancellation, postponement, rescheduling, or format changes, recital fees and costume fees remain non-refundable.
By registering for classes at Dance/10 Performing Arts Center, families and adult students acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to the policies and procedures in this document. Families further acknowledge that continued enrollment requires timely payment, respectful conduct, adherence to safety expectations, and completion of the formal withdrawal process if enrollment is discontinued.
2025-2026 Policies & Procedures
as of June 1, 2025
Dance/10 operates on a year-round training model designed to support each dancer’s consistent progress and growth. A non-refundable annual enrollment fee of $42 per student is required at the time of registration and each August thereafter, based on current rates.
The tuition is based on an 11.5-month program, Mid-August through the end of July. Tuition is divided into 12 payments (1/2 month for August and 11 equal monthly installments from September through July). While some months may include 3 weeks of classes and others 5, tuition is evenly distributed across the full season to reflect the complete 11.5-month program. There is a two-month enrollment minimum for all classes.
Dance/10 reserves the right to adjust class schedules, combine similar classes, or cancel classes that do not meet minimum enrollment. Families will be notified as soon as possible in such cases. If a class is canceled and no alternative option is available, applicable tuition will be refunded.
Missed classes may be made up within two weeks of the absence in any age- and level-appropriate class (the style may differ from your dancer’s original class). All makeup classes must be reserved in advance through our portal to ensure your dancer appears on the class roster.
To qualify for a makeup, the absence must be reported through the portal before the class start time. This helps us maintain accurate attendance records and manage class sizes effectively. Unreported absences are not eligible for makeup classes.
If you need assistance scheduling a makeup or have a last-minute emergency, please reach out, we’re happy to help!
Please note:
- Makeup classes cannot be applied as tuition credit.
- Makeups are only available to currently enrolled students.
- Makeup credits do not roll over from one dance year to the next.
We require families to complete our online withdrawal form within the first 7 days of the month in order for the withdrawal to take effect at the end of that same month.
- For example, if you submit the withdrawal form by October 7, your dancer’s last day of class will be October 31.
- If the form is submitted on October 8 or later, your dancer’s enrollment continues through November 30, and tuition for November will be due.
Withdrawals must be submitted through the online withdrawal form only. We are unable to accept withdrawal requests via phone, email, in person, or through instructors. Tuition remains due until the withdrawal form has been submitted.
While Dance/10 reserves the right to discontinue a student’s enrollment when necessary, we strive to resolve any challenges through respectful communication. If Dance/10 initiates the withdrawal, any unused tuition will be refunded.
No withdrawals will be accepted after May 1 for June or July classes.
Dance/10 observes select holidays each year, as listed on our studio calendar. We do not pro-rate tuition or offer make-ups for these dates, as they are already factored into our annual tuition plan. In the event of teacher illness or absence, a qualified substitute will lead the class.
Dance/10 provides two recital opportunities each year: one in December and one in July. Participation in our recitals is optional. All information regarding costume ordering and recitals will be emailed and posted on our website under our recital section. Families may opt out before the published deadline via the opt-out form provided with recital information. On the due date, as listed on our studio calendar, the costume fee will be automatically charged to the payment method on file. Late costume orders are subject to availability and incur an additional $30 fee to cover shipping and processing costs.
Costumes will be passed out to students only if tuition is current. Costume fees are non-refundable.
Refer to our website for detailed dress code information, including class-specific requirements. Required dancewear and dance shoes, appropriate to class style, must be worn in all classes.
We strive to support all dancers in feeling confident and comfortable in their dancewear. Please let us know if your dancer needs accommodations or alternatives due to gender identity, sensory preferences, or other needs.
For safety reasons, dancers are not permitted to wear jewelry in class. Cover-ups should be worn to and from the studio; however, they must be removed upon the teacher’s request. Failure to wear the required dancewear or appropriate shoes to class may result in students being asked to sit out of the class.
Dance/10 is not responsible for providing before- or after-class care for students. Dancers should arrive no earlier than 5 minutes before class and be picked up no later than 5 minutes after class ends.
At Dance/10, consistent attendance supports dancer growth and group cohesion. Repeated lateness may lead to conversations about class readiness and placement.
For safety reasons, we reserve the right to have students who come late to class sit out of the class. Repeated lateness may result in the termination of lessons. Missing classes may interrupt skill progression and choreography retention. We strongly encourage regular attendance and offer make-up options for occasional absences due to conflicts or illness.
No food or drink (except water) is permitted in the building. No gum. No glass containers.
At Dance/10, we believe dance is for everyone. We are committed to celebrating diversity across race, gender, identity, body type, ability, and background. Our faculty is trained to create an inclusive, respectful environment, and we welcome open communication about how we can best support your dancer’s individual needs.
We do not tolerate offensive, aggressive, or discriminatory behavior from students, families, or staff. In such cases, we reserve the right to refuse service in order to maintain a safe and nurturing studio community.
We ask all families to regularly check email, bulletin boards, and our website for updates. It is your responsibility to ensure contact information is up to date in our portal so that we can communicate effectively with you. Primary studio communication will be via email.
By enrolling, you grant Dance/10 permission to use video and still images of your dancer in promotional materials, including our website, social media, and print advertising. The studio reserves the right to copyright such media in its name.
Taking videos of classes and choreography is at the sole discretion of the class instructor. It is understood that no part of a class recording will be uploaded to sites, like YouTube, or social media without expressed permission from the instructor.

Students should only participate in activities that are safe for their current space and physical ability. We encourage all families to communicate with instructors if any movement modifications are needed. Parents should supervise their children while they are taking classes. Public Health
Dance/10 Performing Arts Center is committed to the health and wellness of its students, staff, and their respective families. By enrolling, you agree to comply with any public health guidelines Dance/10 may issue, including updates as needed to address changing conditions.
For the health and safety of all students, faculty, and staff, please do not attend classes if you are feeling unwell for any reason.
Body Image & Physical Wellness
Dance/10 fosters a culture of body positivity. We celebrate all body types and promote healthy habits, not appearance-based standards. Parents and adult students should be aware that dance is a physically demanding activity, and proper body care is essential to sustain training and prevent injury.
For your convenience, Dance/10 Performing Arts Center accepts tuition via electronic funds transfer (EFT) directly from your bank account or credit card (visa or mastercard).
Any adjustments to the payment method on file must be made prior to the last day of the month to take effect for the next payment cycle.
Tuition fees are processed via the payment method on-file on the:
- 15th day of the month for August.
- 1st day of each month from September to July.
The final deduction for the dance year will occur on July 1st. Payment must be made by pre-authorized automatic monthly payment. Incidental fees such as retail purchases, recital tickets, etc. are not automatic payments and must be paid by check, cash, or credit card. There is also a $30.00 fee for returned checks or declined automatic payments (EFT or Credit Card).
We understand that unexpected changes can occur. All tuition and fees are non-refundable unless a class is canceled by Dance/10. Should public health directives impact our instructional format, programs may continue via remote platforms. In such cases, tuition and fees remain non-refundable, as our faculty and staff continue to work to deliver quality instruction. In the event that public health concerns necessitate the cancellation or rescheduling of recitals, any recital fees and costume fees will not be refunded.
