Absences & Makeups
How to report an absence and schedule a makeup
Quick policy recap
- Report the absence in the portal before class start time to qualify for a makeup.
- Makeups do not convert to tuition credit, are for currently enrolled students only, and do not roll over to the next dance year.
- Makeups must be completed with in 2 weeks of the missed class in any age- and level-appropriate class.
Step 1: Report an absence
- Log in to the Parent/Student Portal.
- Click on the menu (☰)
- Open Absences & Makeups or Attendance.
- Choose Report Absence or Submit Future Absence.
- Select your dancer and the class date, then add a short note if helpful.
- Submit. Teachers and the studio will be alerted.
Tip: Reporting before class time is required for makeup eligibility.
Step 2: Schedule your makeup
When teachers take attendance, any absences reported in advance will be authorized for a makeup. You’ll be able to schedule the makeup once the absence has been approved in the system.
- In the portal, return to Absences & Makeups.
- Choose Schedule Makeup.
- Filter by age and level to see eligible options within the 2-week window.
- Pick a class with open spots, then click Reserve.
- Once submitted, your student appears on the class roster for the makeup.
Heads up: Styles can differ from the original class, as long as the class is age- and level-appropriate.
